Introduction to Huna II
- Beyond the Basics: Integration & Expansion -

Ready to Go Beyond the Basics and Experience Huna More Deeply?

Intro to Huna II offers an opportunity to deepen your connection with Huna teachings and experience them from a richer level of awareness. As we grow and change, the teachings reveal new layers of meaning and transformation.

This workshop builds upon the foundation introduced in Intro to Huna and invites you to revisit the teachings with fresh eyes and a deeper understanding. Often, upon returning to familiar concepts, we hear and experience them differently because we ourselves have evolved. What once felt simple may suddenly carry new meaning and insight.

Together, we will revisit release work, as creating space within ourselves enables deeper learning and transformation. We will continue exploring the Laws of Huna — how the universe works — through deeper discussion and experiential practices. We will also begin learning about the Elements, the foundational energies that connect the material and spiritual worlds.

Throughout the weekend, additional ʻŌpua teachings and initiations will be shared to support your continued growth, awareness, and energetic connection.

The teachings may remain the same, but we are not the same individuals each time we return to them. As we evolve, our understanding naturally deepens.

Kumu Etua Lopes used to say:  “You never know how deep the pond is.”

This workshop is an invitation to reconnect with the teachings more deeply, expand your awareness, and continue growing into a more empowered version of yourself.

What is Huna?

Huna is the modern Western label given to the ancient healing and spiritual shamanism of ancient Hawai`i. The teachings have been passed down through particular family lineages, and were once secret and carefully guarded – but today, some families teach Huna openly. Huna is sometimes associated with neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) or hypnosis, but it is distinctly different from these practices. Instead, Huna is a way of thinking, doing, and being, with processes and techniques that can assist you in your personal, professional, and spiritual growth and development.

Family Lineage
The school’s Huna lineage, Hālau Ho`omanaloa (School of Energetic Empowerment) in Kona, Hawai`i, descends from the Bray and James families, with significant influence from Uncle George Na`ope, Kumu John Ka`imikaua, and Aunty Bernie (Na`ope) Konanui. Our current teacher is Kumu/Dr. Matthew James.  It is now called the Bray-James lineage. This is an unbroken Huna lineage of 121 generations.

Testimonials from the last workshops:

"Bless you for having guided me to Huna!"

 ~ MR

"I enjoyed the workshop very much! I have been in other Huna sessions and there is always something new, something that I forgot or something that I didn't catch in previous sessions. The location was fantastic, with opportunities to go for a walk during our breaks. The sessions were very dynamic, allowing our group to practice and interact with each other.

Kumu Karen was amazing! Her energy, her vast knowledge, and her welcoming personality made us feel at home right from the beginning. She is the reason why I came back to this workshop. I love her teaching style and how approachable and understanding she is to our "sometimes silly" questions. I feel this workshop gave us the right tools and the foundation to understand energy at a beginning level and to practice in our every-day life.

I strongly recommend this workshop to any person interested in learning about Huna, learning about energy, and learning about themselves in a different perspective. Thanks Kumu Karen and Sachiko for making this workshop possible!"

“It was beneficial in the way I expected – feeling the power of the energy flowing while doing forgiveness work and symbol work.  It was also beneficial in the unexpected way of meeting wonderful people with similar mindsets and interests.  I have used the Huna symbols to add protection and to my property and workspace, and I have felt uplifted the whole week since the workshop”.

~ LCL

“This workshop caught me by surprise in that I was so quickly drawn in.  All of the instructors were so informal, kind, knowledgeable, and supportive”
